PROJECT OVERVIEW
I worked efficiently and effectively with the art director, copy editors, and head of events to revamp the graphic identity of the 2025 Oregon Stater Award Show. I leaned into an astral, space inspired graphic maintaining a clean and polished graphic identity that could be applied to various marketing materials including a print program, email banners, event signage, motion graphics, and more.

Logo Redesign
The Existing Design
The College of Engineering events team at Oregon State University were looking to refresh the graphic identity for the 2025 Oregon Stater Award. After using a gorgeous, but difficult to manage graphic the previous year, they wanted something streamlined and adaptable. Leaning into an astral, space theme, I maintained a clean, circular design that was dynamic and processed easily through Adobe products.
Redesigned options
Utilizing stakeholder feedback, I created five graphic options. Each preserved the circular lockup from the previous design and incorporated the same typographic arrangement varying stylings. The options explored differing approaches to the space theme, from spiraling galaxies and star cluster textures to minimalist orbital lines. I prioritized legibility, file simplicity, and ease of application across various marketing materials.
Updated Color Pallette
Out of OSU’s 16 swatch color palette, I selected four shades to craft the event’s graphic identity. Grounded on a classic Paddletail Black background, Oregon State’s primary Beaver Orange jumps from the page, complemented by an astral, otherworldly shade of Stratosphere blue. For small typography accents, the logo also uses an invigorating shade of Candela yellow.

As a team, we landed on the abstract galaxy swirl for the official 2025 graphic. It is a sharp, polished design that lends itself well for print and digital applications.
